John Watry Metal Art

John Watry is a metal sculptor working and residing in the historical village of East Troy in southeast Wisconsin. John’s inspiration comes from his love of family, the tranquility of nature, eclectic musical tastes, engineering history and Midwest living. Experiences with family and friends, working in the sign and store display industry along with hobbies ranging from arts and crafts, camping, comics books or restoring vintage mopeds gives John multiple facets to reflect on for his creativity.

In his process, John incorporates 100% recycled scrap and metal parts. The found antique pieces are from local farms, factories, machine shops and flea markets around the Midwest, and can be anything from axe heads, sickles, ice tongs, gears or plow and tractor parts.
